Cupcakes and Cards

Hello friends! I hope you are doing well. The past few days have been long...and it is only Tuesday! I am excited to share some of the things I have been working on, but unfortunately I lost good lighting so I will be sure to take better pictures very soon!

I tried taking pics and I got some helpers...well more like distractions! HAHA

Some new things I am working on...

My co-workers and I make cupcakes for each holiday (and just for fun sometimes!). I decided to try to make a vegan cupcake and buttercream. Both of the recipes can be found at Chef Chloe.
She won Cupcake Wars on Food Network a while back with the first vegan cupcakes! I tried the buttercream and chocolate cupcakes, which can be found on her website.

Buttercream

There are white cupcakes with mini chocolate chips, and the vegan chocolate cupcakes.

Please excuse the short post. I will be sure to expand on this post and give you more in a few days! Take care.

Long day...

Today has been very long so this post will be short...just a quote and pic. I will post pictures on what I have been working on later this week. Enjoy!

Blog of the week: Bakerella!

Happy Monday! Today I am excited to share about one of my favorite blogs! This one is extra special, because not only does Bakerella have an amazing blog, but she also has a great book. I have not had the chance to make cake pops yet, but I must say reading her blog makes me want to go out and buy the book. My birthday is coming up next month... ;)

The pictures below show some of my favorite blog entries. Just click the photo to go straight to the blog post! The book and blog not only have amazing photographs, but also give instructions about how to create these adorable pops. I am very eager to try to make the owl pops. Which cake pop is your favorite? ;)

Enjoy!

If you are interested in buying this book, you can find it in any bookstore or at amazon.com

How cute are these little ducks?! Don't they remind you of Spring? Easter would be a perfect time to try these out. :)

So...I must say this photo is here mainly, because roses are one of my favorite flowers, and my middle name. I just love these cupcakes - so elegant, but simply sweet (to look at, and I am sure to eat).

The Pretty Pedestal post was one of my favorites - I fell in love with all the beautiful photos in it, especially since I love the color pink!

I love christmas, and these pops are just so awesome. This chrismas I definately would like to make these!

Sew Liberated and Eco Craft

Greetings! I am pleased to be able to share two great books that I found at the local library. If you have not spent much time at the library you should definately check it out! I love looking for books, especially when if I am not sure if I would like to buy them. Most recently I found two great crafty books:

Eco Craft by Susan Wasinger is a great book about how to use common recycled items, such as wine bottles, baby jars, and magazines to make vases, chandeliers, and Christmas ornaments. The photos and easy to understand instructions are great! I personally am going to try to make the Christmas ornaments - it's never too late to start making gifts! :)

Sew Liberated by Meg McElwee is for the "modern sewist" and includes 20 easy projects that inspire creativity at the sewing machine! The book even includes patterns, which is great for the beginner sewer like me. :) Two projects I am excited about are the teacup corset apron, and the baby book, which is so cute!

Both these books can be found at amazon.com. You can also follow Meg McElwee on her blog here.

Be sure to check back in with me, because I will be documenting my progress and the final products soon! :)

Enjoy!

Just a few of my favorite things...

Well Spring is supposed to have sprung about a week ago, but here in the City of Roses, there was sun, rain, hail, and even SNOW this week!! But although the weather cannot seem to make up its mind, I, on the otherhand, am excited for Spring, and these items remind me that Spring is definately on the way!
